Prestwick Wargames Club

The 30th will be a good gaming night where we will all start off with a 2 man team for zombie hunting.

Looking at my guys they sure do look like zombie hunters alright!

We will just need to wait and see who else shots up with good hunters as well.

Tonights Game night was Brilliant in my eyes.

Basically, Alan had arrived first followed by me. As we waited on Tom and Blair we set up some boards.

Tom came in with Hoardes of The Things aka HOTT figures an rules.

Tom and I chose the orc side and Alan and Blair chose the Elf side.

As the attackers Tom and I made our first move.

With nothing much happening.

About the 5th or 6th turn in, Blair's cavalry and my own cavalry came into contact, as his were knights he had the advantage, and also mine were stuck in collumn. The fight went on and on, and my archers and hoards of goblins came into contact. As his knights pushed my cavalry back my hoards were killed. Good thing was I could use pips to bring my hoards back. As my cavalry were being pushed back, his right and my left came into contact.

My right flank was demolished as 2 Knights killed my cavalry. his other knight managed to charge my archers and killed one unit, although with the savour of my Hero, whom I now call Lucky McDeath, killed his Knights.

On the left side, my Blades and cavalry fought along with my archers against his Elven Spearmen, whom were beaten, along side Blair's mage. Now it took Blair two pips to move, as his archers started to move, we counted the points of his Army, he started with 24 points, and he had lost more than half. So it was a Victory from my side of the board.

Also on the field, Tom was victorious against Alan, as my allie Tom and Alan were very close in a win lose.

I'm sure Tom will post his side of events as well.

Battle Report #1

Romans v German Barbs! 

(Sean v Tom)

Starting Armies.

Romans :

• 4 units of Infantry
• 1 archer unit
• 1 general
• 1 unit of cavalry

Germans :

• 3 Warbands
• 1 skirmish unit
• 1 cavalry unit

Tom won a great victory, was a hard but fun game to play. We used the Warhammer Ancient rules what worked very well, and would definitely play again.

I got the initiative, but didn't do me the whole lot of good, as my dice rolling was lets say **** lol. Tom lost control of his Warbands many times as they went on a rampage killing as many Romans as possible. During the middle and the downfall of my side of the game my dice rolling got better and it looked like I was going to beat Tom. But did not happen, as Tom flanked my cavalry which was in combat with his cavalry and holding.  Although I had tried my best to win, the dice was not on my side. I lost the battle with grave casualties, although outnumbering Tom. He got the decisive victory.
